SEAL SECURES SKEGNESS WIN

February 8th, 2021.

The popular AMCA Skegness Beach Race attracted a healthy entry of over 100 quad riders for its 2021 return to the Lincolnshire tourist resort.

Sheldon Seal was the outright winner and the only competitor to complete 23 laps of the challenging deep-sand track. “It was a nice comfortable win in the end, but it did not come without a few complications. It’s always a tricky race, tight and technical. I made a very early pit due to a suspected puncture at around 20 minutes and took on some fuel while I was in there. I pushed hard to get the lead back by around the hour mark and then settled into a nice flow. All in all, it was a great bit of preparation ahead of the next French sand championship race. Thanks to Mark McLernon, Lewis Shaw and especially the birthday boy, young Luca Shaw, for their help in the pits.”

Jonny Kelly rode a great race to finish second with 22 laps. Kevin Meenagh rounded out the top three with 21 laps ahead of James Bevan, who worked his way from 101-placed start to finish fourth with 21 laps under his belt, and Simon David on 20 laps.
