SANSOM SIGNS OFF WITH A WIN

September 24th, 2020.

Oli Sansom produced a fitting end to his 2020 quadcross season in the UK, with a hard-fought race two win at the penultimate round of the Nora-MX Championship last weekend.

He stormed away from the start gate, securing the holeshot in the process and went on to lead from the start all the way to the chequered flag. The sixth round of the Nora-MX series signalled Sansom’s departure from British motocross-style events as he will now focus his efforts on sand racing and will contest the Loon Plage Beach Race on the 4th of October.

“I was really happy with my results at Nora-MX,” said Sansom. “Little Silver is a proper motocross track and the meeting was very well run by the club. It’s nice to know I’ve still got it, winning moto 2 from start to finish with a clean holeshot too. My Yamaha YFZ450R never missed a beat. Big congratulations also to James Bevan on his final moto win.

“That’s it for me for this year as far as motocross is concerned. I have decided to solely concentrate on my passion of riding in the deep sand. I’ll be back gunning for the ACU British Championship next year though.

There were further celebrations for the Sansom crew at Nora-MX as Harry Walker #169, who races in the Intermediates class, is sponsored by Sansom Motorsports and the MX Academy. He took his first class win in the final Inters/Novice moto.

“I’d like to give a massive shout out to our MX Academy/Sansom Motorsports team rider Harry Walker on his first win in the Inters class and finally, as ever, a huge thanks to Yamaha Motor UK for their continued support, all my sponsors and all those who support and believe in me.”
