MCLERNON SETS SIGHTS ON 2021

December 22nd, 2020.

Mark McLernon was, without doubt, the UK’s most successful quad racer in 2019, a year where he contested, and won, every major domestic quad championship. He is now hungry to get back out in 2021 and prove he still has what it takes to ‘Own the racetrack’.

In 2019, McLernon was British QX Champion, Ulster and Irish Champion, and NORA-MX British Champ. He and his team finished third at the gruelling 12-hour Pont de Vaux endurance event, and he led the Team Ireland Quadcross of Nations crew to a hard-fought and well-deserved third overall against the best quad-racers in the world.

He then topped off an incredible 2019 by collecting the prestigious Irish Motorbike Awards Off-Road Rider of the Year title, and the Nora-MX Sportsman of the Year award.

Having achieved so much on the quad racing circuit in just one year, McLernon had little left to prove and had already decided to temporarily hang up his racing boots for 2020 prior to the arrival of the Coronavirus pandemic. Thanks to the disruption caused to the racing calendar though, McLernon is still the reigning British, Ulster and Irish Quad Champion.

En-route to his successful 2019, McLernon won the 2014 British Under-21 Championship. He then moved up a class and won the 2016 British Quad Championship, finished second in 2017 and third in 2018, before blitzing the opposition in 2019.

“I did everything I needed to do in 2019,” said the softly spoken Irishman. “But I couldn’t have done it without the support of companies such as QuadBikesRUS and ATVs Only and its associated brands like Goldspeed, PEP, Fasst Company, SamcoSport, TM Designworks, Lone Star Racing, Douglas Wheel, Streamline Brakes & Controls, Doma Exhausts, TLO Racing, Pro Design, Hinson Clutch Components and 2TuffRacing.

“I’m itching to get back racing and see what 2021 brings!”
