SEAL IS TOP BRIT AT LE TOUQUET

February 4th, 2020.

Several British quad riders tackled the gruelling two-hour Enduropale du Touquet quad race last weekend, and, as widely predicted, the event was dominated by French riders.

Sheldon Seal (Yamaha) was one of the few Brits able to stay with the French, completing 10 laps and finishing fourth overall behind Randy Naveaux, Jeremie Warnia and Romain Couprie. The 2019 British QX Championship runner-up and U-21 champ Harry Walker made a good start and was up to fifth in the early stages before his race was thwarted by machine problems. His brother Alfie, riding as part of a two-man team with Dylan McKenna, was in the top one hundred at one point, but a small electrical issue set them back, which resulted in a 228th-place finish for the youngsters.

Quadbikes R US Yamaha supported riders Carl Bunce and Laurence Stopps both had a good run on the French dunes, with Bunce putting in nine laps to finish a solid 24th and Stopps with eight laps to secure 78th out of almost 300 finishers. Others in the mix included Can-Am mounted DQR regulars Graham Guy and Stuart Marley, with Ben Russell and Jonny Kelly also completing the race within the time frame. Apologies to anyone we’ve missed.
