DOUBLE HEADER WEEKEND

May 18th, 2017.

The Cromwell Truck Sales ACU British QX Championship moves to the West Country this weekend for Round 3 of the series at Landrake Moto Parc near Plymouth.

The meeting incorporates Round 4 of the NORA-MX Club Championship, so an action-packed event is assured across all adult and youth classes.

Will reigning champion Mark McLernon and former champ Paul Holmes turn the tables yet again this weekend, or will one of the other top runners get in on the act?

McLernon now heads the points table into Round 3, just 3 points ahead of Multi-British champ Holmes, but hardpack specialist George Callaway could again up his form this weekend as he did at Culham, only to be robbed of a win in Moto 3 by electrical gremlins.

Other top runners looking to show form and reliability include Davy Cowan, now sitting in third place in the championship race, George Day and Irishmen Leon Rogers and Justin Reid, who will all be there to capitalise on any mishaps involving McLernon and Holmes.

The Under 21 class features no less than 13 very competitive riders, with Daffyd Davies grabbing a holeshot and the lead for a few laps at Culham two weeks ago.

Rookies Callum Bates and Brad Frost will also be looking for the Rookie top slot this weekend.

Racing starts at 11.00am, with ACU British 250 Youth and Masters and a 20-strong Novice group proving popular this year with the added safety of a split gate.

Camping is available at Landrake.

Entry fee is £20.00 a car or £10.00 a single adult, with concessions for OAP's and children.
