COOPER SET FOR PDV DEBUT

June 24 2016.

Former British Under 21 champion Luke Cooper will make his debut at the Pont de Vaux 12 hour classic in France this summer alongside fellow British Championship stars Sheldon Seal and David Cowan.

Seal and Cowan finished fourth at last year’s shortened rain-hit event riding with Dutchman Mike van Grinsven, but Welshman Cooper has been drafted in to create an all English-speaking squad for the race on the 27th and 28th of August.

The trio will be mounted on a new Yamaha YZF450R prepared by Seal under the banner of his SJS Services tuning and preparation business. The SJS squad will run three teams in total at the event.

A second YFZ450R will be ridden by Luke Davis, Harry Miller and Josh Waring. Davis is a previous winner of the Under-18 category at the event, while the others will be making their PDV debuts.

An all-female team of Amilee Miller, Amy Price-Draper and Amy Keitch will pilot a third YFZ450R. With Ulster’s Emma McQuaid missing this year’s event after having recent shoulder surgery, the trio will be a good bet to lift the award for leading women’s team, but they will face stiff opposition from the top Canadian squad of Emilie Rioux, Vanessa Noël and Valérie Morisette.

The three-quad team could not race at such a big event as PDV without the support of AJ Willcock Holeformers, Smart Transport, Hel Performance, Tyre Johny’s, ATV Centre, Cowan Racing, Spot On, The Graffix Shack, Rip n Roll, Xtremcom and Four Werx.
