NORA-MX GETS THE GREEN LIGHT

July 2nd, 2020.

The revised 2020 Nora-MX Quad Championship gets underway on Sunday the 19th of July at Culham, Oxfordshire.

The return of the UK’s leading quad club to the racing scene will be a welcome one for both youth and adult riders, and will comprise a seven-round series taking place from July to October. Classes have been restructured with a morning qualifying session that will determine groups for the adult classes, while the Masters A and B and youth classes will qualify for start gate position only.

The new 2020 Nora-MX race calendar is;

Round 1 - 19th July, Culham, OX14 3DA
Round 2 - 2nd August, Gusses Gorse, SP4 6JW
Round 3 - 16th August, Grittenham, SN15 4JW
Rounds 4 & 5 - 12th & 13th September, Brake Hill, NN14 3NB
Round 6 - 20th Sept, North Nibley, GL11 6DL
Round 7 - 4th October, West Meon, GU32 1JY

Six race groups will have a minimum of 10 minutes plus one lap races. The adult classes will operate a split gate. The groups are;

Expert/Championship
Clubman Elite/Clubman
Inters/Novice - incorporating the Ladies Championship
Masters A/B – over 40s only
250s
100/50

The club has taken on board advice from the ACU and the government and certain measures will be put in place to ensure that health and safety issues are a priority for all concerned.

These actions mean that all entries are required to be made in advance of the meeting and day licences pre-bought – the club will not accept entries, or issue licences, on the day. Overnight camping for competitors and families will be allowed in accordance with social distancing guidelines, but public spectators will not be admitted.

Clearly eager to get the 2020 quad racing season underway, yet naturally cautious, Richard Shaw of Nora-MX said; “The Shaw family and Nora-MX 2020 Team cannot wait to welcome everyone to our revised race season. I want to thank all concerned for their patience and support over the past five months of uncertainty due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

“This virus has not gone away, so we must all be careful and mindful. As a family, we appreciate the understanding of the competitors, their friends and families, of the changes we have put in place. At the end of the day, the health and safety of everyone involved is of the utmost importance.”
